Hong Kong Ocean Park’s Resource-Based Management

This paper analyzes Hong Kong Ocean Park’s strategic challenges using the resource-based view (RBV). Facing intense competition from Disneyland and financial burdens, HKOP must leverage its unique marine theme, brand identity, and human capital to achieve sustainable competitive advantage. The study recommends focusing on exclusive attractions, character branding, and employee development to enhance differentiation and long-term success. Emphasis is placed on identifying and nurturing resources that are valuable, rare, and difficult to imitate.
