Cultural Identity and Ethnicities’ Integrity Significance in Mora’s Poetry

This essay explores three poems from Pat Mora’s ChantsElena, Legal Alien, and Bribe—to examine the complex experiences of Mexican American immigrants. Mora, known for her bilingual and bicultural style, highlights issues such as cultural dislocation, language barriers, identity struggles, and societal prejudice.
